Overcome the Anxiety That’s Holding you Back

It’s only natural to feel some degree of anxiety at times. You might feel anxious when you’ve got a problem at home or before making an important decision. But anxiety disorders are something different. They are persistent, they can interfere with daily activities, and they often get worse over time. The bottom line: no one should have to live in a state of constant anxiety that can rob you of living your life to the fullest.

Take that first step toward self-empowerment! At the Marin Center for Compassion, Dr. Celedra Gildea will lead you on a journey to greater well-being, helping you to overcome your anxiety issues and move into the realm of mindfulness and self-compassion.

3 main types of anxiety disorders:

  • panic disorder: includes sudden periods of intense fear that result in palpitations, pounding heart, sweating, trembling or shaking

  • social anxiety disorder: a marked fear of being embarrassed, judged, rejected, or fearful of offending others

  • generalized anxiety: marked by excessive worry, restlessness or feeling wound-up or on edge.

Left untreated, anxiety disorders can significantly impact a person’s ability to function. Often it can lead to symptoms of depression and can lead to destructive behaviors such as alcohol or drugs to help manage the uncomfortable symptoms.

At the Marin Center for Compassion, Dr. Gildea uses various techniques, including sensorimotor psychotherapy and EMDR, to help restore you to the life that was meant to be yours. For more information and to book an online therapy appointment, call today.
